Culver General Discussion / Re: What Prop do you use
« on: June 19, 2017, 02:40:52 PM »
I had my first flight today behind my reconditioned Beech Roby propeller. I exchenged my 67x55 metal prop by the Beech Roby. Cruise speed is plus 10kts, max level flight speed plus 15-20kts.

Parts Wanted / Beech Roby Propeller Shaft and lock nut
« on: May 19, 2017, 04:37:22 PM »
Hi,
I now have an overhauled Beech Roby variable pitch prop ready to install. The only things missing are the propeller shaft nut and the corresponding lock nut. It's an R003 hub. Does someone have these parts for sale or may know where to get them?

Thanks
Ricardo

Culver General Discussion / Re: New Panel
« on: February 17, 2017, 01:49:37 PM »
Hi,
I used the cold month here to rebuild the instrument panel of N24R. The old one had a couple of unused cutouts and scratches and didn’t look very nice any more. Furthermore I decided to switch back from an electric tachometer to a mechanical one. Due to the self made arrangement of the instruments in the old panel the mechanical one didn’t fit. I tried to make it as original as possible, but of course I had to make some more cutouts than the original panel came with. The “extras” are for the voltmeter, the CHT indicator (I really appreciate to have one), the manifold pressure, the small compass and the ones for COM and XPDR.
I also reupholstered the dashboard. The old crumbly carpet was replaced by synthetic leather.
If anybody is looking for a suitable COM or XPDR I can recommend the Trig TY91 and TT21. They both have a small remote control unit that easily fits the Culver panel. The real radio/XPDR unit is mounted under the seat back in the baggage compartment.

Parts Wanted / Re: A-75 Exhaust, Oil Cooler and Long Neck Oil Tank etc.

Hi, I think to remember that the exhaust from an Aeronca Champ fits the Culver. I also have some drawings from the exhaust. If you want I can make a copy for you.

« on: August 10, 2016, 03:36:13 AM »
Hi Bill, I'm just changing from Eisemann to Slick mags. But I've the unshielded AM4 on my Continental. Do you need them as a part source?

Culver General Discussion / Culver meet in Germany
« on: July 13, 2016, 03:27:22 AM »
Hey guys,
Last weekend the two flying cadets in Europe did some formation flying. Was great to see these little peaces of history flying together. One was N25U and mine is N24R, the one formerly owned by Dick Miller.

Hi ndeye,
did you already choose a propeller for your culver and are you satisfied with it? I have quite the same problem as you’ve described above. When going faster than 120MPH I over speed the propeller, so I have to throttle back to about half the power.
I have a 75HP Continental engine installed.

Hi, does anyone have an A75 cylinder? Should be in a usable condition. Unfortunately one of mine has a crack.

Thanks
