How about a Culver fly in?  Would like to see any and all examples.  We could pick a central spot.  Any interest for May/June?

SN 117 is back in the air,  unable to attach picts for some reason...good first flight since 7 year restoration.  3 hours on it now and getting it dialed in.  Full flight report in a few weeks.

Maintenance and Repair / LCA exhaust
« on: July 06, 2017, 02:31:21 PM »
To make the exhaust for my LCA,  I tried some off the shelf stacks from an Aeronca Chief, but did not like the exit point.  Rather than modify it, I took Service Memo #7 off from Bill's site, took some pvc, made a mock up and sent it to Dawley Aviation, Burlington, WI.  They tack welded a pair out of stainless steel, then sent to me to test fit.  All was good so they finished welded it.  Its as close to original as I could get.  The carb heat shroud is a modified Cessna part, the cabin heat is the same, but I am not real confident the cabin heat will work with out forced air.  Final length will be trimmed after cowling is fit.  Its been exhausting.

Just bought a Sensenich W70A-54, the cruise prop for the Continental A-75.  Hope to be flying this summer.  6 week lead time, wich is fine, have a few details to work out, oil cooler plumbing, brakes and cowling etc etc etc.

Thanks, Champ/Chief exhaust does not fit.   I have the drawings and might just have them made.  The std. A-65 for Champ fits the engine, but curves in the wrong place.
