Maintenance and Repair / Re: Lifting a Lark (Jacking etc)

I just hunk down under the main spar and lift one side with my shoulders and back. Another person places the stands under the main spar. I do this twice  alternating on  both sides. Maybe you can also use a hydraulic jack to rise the stands (I never tried).
Before i put the tailwheel on a heavy block and strap it down.

I use higher than normal car jacks and wooden padded beams under the main spar. Jacks are "Draper AS6000". They are from UK.

Hello to UK!

Welcome! There are two Culver Cadet flying in Germany, N25U (that's me) and N24R. As I know, there is another one in UK, but not flying at the moment.
Another Question: Is anywhere visiting Oskosh 17 this week? I will be there Friday and Saturday.

Anyone in Oshkosh this year? I will be there Thursday and Friday. Unfortunately not with the Culver - would be a long trip from Germany ;-)

Hello everyone,

N25U got a new panel. Now it's 75 years old and still a fascinating aircraft.

Is anyone going to Sun'n Fun next week? I will be there until Friday. Unfortunately without my Cadet, it's a long trip from Germany ;-)

Hello Christian,

Take a look in the docs supplied with the plane to find a form 337 for the conversion. Usually that's the way how other engines then described in TCDS where installed. You will find examples of such 337 forms in the collection of FAA files.

Viele Grüße

Maintenance and Repair / Re: Philips screws

Mine has a mix of Philips and slotted screws. I think that slotted ones are more original, but the patent of Philips is from 1936, so they are already available when our planes where produced.

Aircraft Wanted / New here and Looking for a Cadet
« on: October 17, 2013, 01:07:31 PM »
Hi folks,

Since a friend bought a Culver Cadet and took it over to Germany, I felt in love with this beautiful little plane. I'm looking for a flying one, that don't need a lot of work, because I'm busy in building another project, a Kitfox S7.
If there is any for sale with a Continental engine, please let me know.

Thanks
Andreas
